What is the Trans Euro Trail?

The Trans Euro Trail (TET) is a free, volunteer-curated long-distance route for adventure and enduro motorcycles that runs across all of Europe on as much unpaved road as possible. Each country has its own section, put together by local volunteers ("linesmen"), with GPX tracks you can download for free. The idea: travel adventurously over gravel, sand and forest tracks instead of the motorway.

The TET in the Netherlands

The Netherlands has a TET section too, with its own route and GPX tracks. Given the density and the many protected nature areas, the Dutch TET is a creative puzzle of public unpaved roads, sand tracks and green lanes. You'll find the official, up-to-date tracks on the Trans Euro Trail website. Because access varies per road and map data is not always legally accurate: ride on sight, respect signs, barriers and closures, and stay out of protected nature and military areas.
